Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (PS3)
Before Handsome Jack became the most entertaining villain in shooter history, he was just a guy with a plan and a moon base. This is that story.
Developed by 2K Australia in collaboration with Gearbox Software, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel fills in the gap between Borderlands 2 and its predecessor, telling the origin story of Handsome Jack and the events that transformed him from ambitious Hyperion programmer to galactic tyrant. It is funnier, stranger, and more self-aware than anything the series had attempted before.
The shift to Elpis, Pandora's moon, changes everything about how the game plays. Low gravity launches you skyward and lets you slam back down onto enemies with bone-crunching force. Oxygen management adds a layer of strategy to exploration and combat that keeps the moment to moment gameplay feeling fresh. Cryo and laser weapon types arrive in the series for the first time, expanding an already enormous arsenal in new and satisfying directions.
Four new vault hunters each bring distinct abilities and playstyles to the table, and the series trademark cooperative play remains as chaotic and rewarding as ever. Better with a friend. Even better with four.
The loot loop that made Borderlands 2 compulsive is intact and refined, with millions of procedurally generated weapons waiting to be found, stolen, and upgraded across a campaign that balances sharp writing with relentless action.
If you loved Borderlands 2, this is essential. If you never played the series, there has never been anything quite like it.
One moon. One maniac. Infinite loot.
