In Beast, one player takes on the role of a powerful creature stalking the wilderness, while the other players become specialised hunters trying to track it down before it is too late. The hunters must work together, communicate carefully and follow the Beast’s trail, while the Beast uses cunning, misdirection and timing to stay hidden.

Hunt or Be Hunted

The Northern Expanse is wild, mystical and dangerous. As human settlements grow and the forests shrink, nature begins to fight back. Great creatures known as Beasts emerge from the wilderness, threatening the people who have pushed too far into their domain.

To protect the settlements, hunters are sent into the wild to track and kill the Beast before more lives are lost.

Hidden Movement and Tense Decisions

The Beast moves secretly across forests, swamps and caverns using a deck of direction cards. Hunters do not always know exactly where the Beast is, but when they cross a location where it has been, a trail appears.

Each hunter has limited chances to search, making every decision matter. Is the trail still fresh, or has the Beast already moved on? Should the hunters split up, close in together, or risk wasting precious actions?

Card-Driven Strategy

Every action in Beast is powered by cards. Moving, searching, attacking and other actions require players to use cards from their hand, with a maximum of two cards played per turn.

Before each round, both the hunters and the Beast draft important action cards, creating tough choices and direct competition over the tools each side needs most.

Cooperation vs Deception

Hunters cannot defeat the Beast alone. They need to communicate, coordinate and combine their actions to corner their target. The Beast, on the other hand, must outmaneuver the group, mislead the hunters and strike at the right moment.

This creates a tense one-versus-many experience where both sides must think carefully and adapt throughout the game.
